As the "heart" of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the long-term stability and service life of the electric pile are very important. If the hydrogen fuel cell is failure in sealing functional, it will lead to hydrogen leakage, reduce the utilization rate of hydrogen, affect the efficiency of the fuel cell, and in serious cases, the battery will not work, thus affecting the battery life.
Hydrogen fuel cell sealants are mainly used between bipolar plates and membrane electrodes, and between plates and plates. It requires the following features:
High air tightness: in order to seal hydrogen and oxygen, especially hydrogen, as a colorless, odorless, flammable and explosive small molecular gas, even a small gap, hydrogen is very easy to lead to leakage;
Rubber elasticity: the car is often in various states of motion, with elasticity is to absorb vibration and resist impact.
There are three main production processes of hydrogen fuel cell application of sealant: Automatic injection molding, Bonded after molding of sealant, dispensing molding.
Automatic injection molding:
Rubber material:Liquid silicone rubber / Solid silicone rubber/ Traditional rubber
Product description: Metal bipolar / Graphite bipolar
Technical key point: Automatic production process of bipolar plate surface pretreatment,
over-molding, dimensional and air tightness testing and packaging.
Bonded after molding of sealant:
Rubber material:Liquid silicone rubber / Solid silicone rubber/ Traditional rubber
Product description: Metal bipolar / Graphite bipolar
Technical key point: After the sealing gasket is produced, the sealing gasket and the bipolar
plate are bonded and cured by using the cold glue process.
Dispensing for two concept:
CIPG (cured in place gasket): It is coated on the sealing surface to harden before assembly
FIPG (formed in place gasket): It is coated on the sealing surface and assemble without hardening
Hydrogen tank sealing solution:
Rubber materials:PVMQ/EPDM/FKM/FVMQ
Product:pressurization / decompression valve sealant (irregular)
Technical key point:
Low temperature resistance at -80°C
Low permeability
